Movie Review:10,000 BC

My rating:4/5
The movie is set in the Mesolithic period,up in the mountains. The movie begins with two main events. The first one is the arrival of Evolet,a blue-eyed girl whose people were killed by the "four-legged demons".The wise old woman of the tribe,Old Mother, makes a prophecy when she arrives. The second event is the departure of D'Leh's father.Everyone thought he ran away and D'Leh was labelled the son of a coward.

Several years later, the tribe is expecting a herd of mammoth to help them survive the winter.Accordig to Tic'Tic,D'Leh's mentor and a friend of D'Leh's father, whoever kills the lead male of the herd will be entitled to the legendary White Spear as well as Evolet. There is a rivalry between D'Leh and Ka'ren, who also wants to be the leader of the tribe. When the mammoth herd arrives, the hunters try to capture the lead male with a net,but it manages to escape with the net.D'Leh is the only one who holds on to the net,and the mammoth accidentally falls on his spear and dies.Everyone thinks that D'Leh killed the mammoth, and is thought to be the leader and the winner of Evolet. But D'Leh is honest and returns the spear to Tic'Tic.

On the same night,a mysterious tribe attacks the village and kidnap many people, including Evolet.D'Leh,Ka'ren,Tic'Tic,and a young boy named Baku go after the prisoners. The movie is about how they venture into unknown lands, and discover civilizations other than their own.At each encounter, they are joined by other tribes whose people have been kidnapped and they all form a huge army. They must battle prehistoric predators and brave the elements to save their people.D'Leh learns about the fate of his father and the true reason he left, and also that he had been called to save not only Evolet, but the whole of civilization.

I enjoyed this movie a lot,and I found it really interesting. It was shot wonderfully, and the special effects were stunning. It was more than a little unsettling, what will all the battle scenes and hunts, but I guess it wouldn't be complete without it.The reconstruction was excellent, and the sets were amazingly realistic.Overall, the movie was good~
